5: "Honestly, it's all about you" Caring, Sharing Idiot

There is only one thing you can say to this one: "YOU ARE IN THE WRONG PROFESSION"

Here's the facts. Consultants are not there to make their clients feel loved and understood and empathised with and generally better about the state of their complex, political, corporate bullshit worlds. If they were, then they wouldn't make any money.

Get it?

Consultants do not exist to better the human race or move existence to a new level of understanding.

They are not in the caring professions. They are not nurses.

They are not social workers.

Somehow this liberal got confused that they were. Can't make a decision for fear that it'll hurt the client's feelings. Can't suggest a course of action because there might be a stakeholder somewhere who doesn't quite like the way the second paragraph, third sentence is written. Can't dare raise a point of learning because it would mean that someone was at fault and we're all lovely, fluffy bunny-wunnies here who just love to sing and dance and tell each other how important we are to the overwhelming sense of love in the world.

Funny, you find you want to punch this one on the nose too...
